meet annie
i’m an ivy-league educated therapist with over twenty years of experience helping people create meaningful, lasting change. i’m a pattern finder. a lifelong student of nature. and someone who believes that healing starts by recognizing what is already whole.
why i built baru wellness
i created baru wellness as an act of trust. it was my way of living what i ask others to explore. if i’m going to talk about alignment, clarity, and emotional truth, then i have to walk it too.
this practice is what it looks like to pivot with purpose. to course-correct when it’s time for a change. to listen, adjust, and move forward even when the next step isn’t guaranteed. growth doesn’t always come with a plan—but there’s an art to changing direction without losing yourself.
baru is that kind of change. the kind that’s rooted, responsive, and real.
how i work
in therapy, i help people uncover the patterns that shape how they connect, choose, and see themselves. when we meet those patterns with curiosity instead of judgment, real change becomes possible. not forced. not rushed. just honest.
i use evidence-based approaches and specialize in behavioral patterns. i also learn from the rhythms of nature. rivers change course. trees bend with the wind. life finds new ways forward—even after the storm. healing does too.
the name baru
baru wellness is named after my dog—baby baru—a wild, determined miniature pinscher who is full of life, bite, and sass. she’s small but fierce, slightly unhinged, and absolutely convinced she runs the world. honestly, she might be right.
she’s one of my five animals and daily teachers. there’s eco, a gentle little street dog with the softest soul; kahn, my aging rottweiler who’s basically 80% gas and 20% wisdom; and three cats—elle, anna, and soul—who operate like apex predators with zero tolerance for nonsense.
this practice, like them, is built on presence, instinct, and survival with personality. healing doesn’t always look calm or cute. sometimes it’s scrappy, sharp, loyal, protective, or curled up on the floor with you until you’re ready to move.
if you’re wondering if you’re ready
you don’t need to have all the answers to begin.
you just need the willingness to take the first step.the door is already open.
